Our Story

Making impact since 2004

The ALC Foundation (ALCF) was established in the year 2004 with the primary objective of providing a “Scholarship Program” specifically designed for students from underprivileged backgrounds in San Mateo, Rizal. This program was put in place to offer educational opportunities and financial support to those who might otherwise lack access to quality education due to socio-economic limitations.

Over time, the ALC Foundation evolved into what is now recognized as the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of the ALC Holdings Company. This means that ALCF serves as a dedicated entity within the larger corporate structure that focuses on fulfilling social responsibilities, particularly in the areas of education and environment. It demonstrates the commitment of the ALC Holdings Company to give back to society by addressing critical issues in these specific domains.

The ALC Foundation’s mission as a “Catalyst of Change” signifies its commitment to actively and strategically instigating and advancing meaningful transformations. It seeks to be a driving force that doesn’t merely react to circumstances but proactively shapes them for the better.

The PROJECT K: KAWAYAN PARA SA KALIKASAN, KALIGTASAN, AT KABUHAYAN, a program of ALC Foundation, Inc. which aims to create green, safe, liveable, resilient, and empowered communities through bamboo growing and propagation while developing and providing for alternative community-based livelihood for target areas.

Kawayanihan: A community bamboo planting

Derived from kawayan and bayanihan. A bamboo growing activity that involves LGUs, communities, academic institutions, NGOs, corporate partners, and other stake holders in re-greening and protecting riverbanks and mountainsides to prevent soil erosion and degradation by planting bamboos.

Bamboohay

Bamboohay (bamboo + hanapbuhay, the Filipino word for livelihood) recognizes that bamboo is a vital tool for development. With the wide array of products that can be made from it, bamboo can best provide sustainable solution for unemployment and poverty. With this, ALC Foundation is set on developing alternative livelihood for the community
